ASID Home Tour Kick-off at the Toto Showroom
My favorite attendee was the ever spunky Jean Pinto, ASID, CID, President of the Los Angeles Chapter of ASID. Favorite line from her came as she walked up to me while I was sipping my blended Green Tea is “You put a little vodka in that and you’re ready to go.” As I laughed I shared with her I was allergic. After few minutes of chatting, I said well, some people drink like a fish. She says,” well, this person (referring to someone else) is too old to drink like a fish, she drinks more like a whale.” That got us laughing hysterically.
The show-stopper of the night was the entry of this fabulous Alexander McQueen’s outfit from his last collection. I neglected to get his name but envied his daring nature and showmanship. “You got to let people know you are there honey” were his famous last words as he exited with pure style. Love it!
Go check out the Home Tour, benefiting the non-profit PATH. They “don’t just give hand outs, they give a hand up,” so that residents have guidance and assistants to help themselves. Tickets are only $50 to see 5 homes. A couple are homes of actual designers.
