Historic Building goes through a remodel – Designer’s Perspective
Christine and I met through my friend sometime in late 2008, found out we both have a passion for Interior Design, she asked me if I’d like to help out with her new project. Having just graduated and with no professional experience, naturally, I said YES! and jumped right into the project.
I have always loved South Park in the South Beach area of San Francisco, but to actually work in one of the ultra modern condos in there was a dream come true! It’s a historic building which was recently renovated from a tobacco import/export factory from before the 1906 earthquake. An added bonus was that the client was starting with a blank canvas and wanted to start anew with all new furniture and knew what he wanted. At the point where I joined the creative process, the themes/look/feel had already been decided on, so it was just about finding key pieces, ordering, monitoring the furniture deliver, getting electric work done, and getting the walls painted…easier said then done.
